mHS seeks a Communications and Outreach Intern and a Community Relations Intern.
Communications and Outreach Intern
micro Home Solutions seeks a Communications and Outreach Intern for a minimum period of two months. The intern will assist the mHS research, advocacy and communications team in implementing an interactive workshop on informal settlements and self-construction for major players in the affordable housing sector. As mHS seeks to create energy and conversation surrounding the workshop, the intern will develop and implement effective social media and outreach strategies. The intern will gain experience in advocacy and communications, and further be introduced to the critical themes and questions surrounding self-built communities in urban India. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; a demonstrated interest in informal settlements; and a thirst for understanding the policy and research angle of inclusive urbanization work.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter and résumé to info@microhomesolutions.org. We seek someone who is available to begin work on or before 15 April.
Community Relations Intern
micro Home Solutions seeks a Community Relations Intern for a minimum period of two months. The intern will assist mHS in conducting an actionable study on the major urban and housing-related issues in the informal settlements of Ranchi, Jharkhand, the results of which will inform an intervention strategy for improving quality of life in these communities. The intern will hone her/his skills in community engagement, impact the design of a long-term housing intervention strategy, and come to understand through grounded field experience the challenges and opportunities facing India’s rapidly urbanizing smaller cities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in low-income and marginalized communities; exhibit a keen ability to build relationships; and demonstrate a strong interest in urban issues. As the intern will be conducting field work, s/he must be available to travel occasionally to Ranchi.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter and résumé to info@microhomesolutions.org. We will give preference to applicants who are available immediately.
